Kneipe und Musik

"Ausgangspunkt dieses Buches ist der Frühling einer subkulturellen Bewegung im Umfeld besetzter Häuser, selbstverwalteter Projekte und ungenutzer Brachen im Zentrum Berlins. Eine Unzahl von Kollektiven ergriff die Gelegenheit, sich diese Räume anzueignen und sie jenseits der Spielregeln der kapitalistischen Marktwirtschaft zu nutzen. Eine seit Jahrzehnten gewachsene Graffiti-Szene traf sich mit Künstler*innen und Aktivist*innen aus aller Welt, um neue ästhetische Ausdrucksformen zu erfinden und ein Recht auf Stadt für alle zu reklamieren. Es folgte eine kreative Explosion in den Straßen. Es war der euphorische Aufbruch einer Bewegung, die glaubte, die Trennung zwischen Kunst und Alltagsleben aufzulösen und den öffentlichen Raum zu einem Gesamtkunstwerk umgestalten zu können.

Sonic Ground x Bladehouse

We are excited to host our first party of the year at Mensch Meier on Easter Friday. Sonic Ground is teaming up with the Bladehouse label crew to host a night of diverse dance music by improvised live acts and classic DJs covering a wide range of genres between ambient, house, minimal, breaks, techno and beyond.

After successful club and festival events in Münich, and pre-pandemic parties in Berlin, Sonic Ground is re-launching their club night events for showcasing improvised live electronic music and diverse DJs. Inviting artists and friends with a similar musical inclination, the Berlin collective puts the focus this time on mixing improvised live acts and classical DJs offering a dynamic flow to the night.

Bladehouse is rather a movement than a label. A group that is connected by a collective understanding of the unnamed space that lies between minimal and house. Driven by grooves, percussive accents and the intuitive creating of flow the crew has bonded. They formed a routine, that has yet peaked in a consistent podcast series as well as a line of releases that have been celebrated by diggers worldwide. With a distinct focus on the musical value of sound over names and some well remembered showcases in the past this team and their work have gathered a trusting community, setting sails for more to come.

Am Samstag, den 23. April lassen wir uns endlich wieder zu wabernden Bässen durch die Nacht treiben.

Doch mit den ersten Sonnenstrahlen ist es noch längst nicht getan. Am Sonntag taumeln wir ab 10 Uhr über den Outdoor-Bereich des Meiers, genießen den Sonntag und lassen beim Open Air die Vorfreude auf die anstehende Festival-Saison steigen.

Ganz egal, ob ihr allein, zu zweit oder als Gruppe, am Samstag oder Sonntag zu uns kommt – hauptsache ist, wir tanzen gemeinsam MIT DIR im MEIER

Bitte beachte, dass bei uns kein Platz für menschenfeindliche Ideologien sowie diskriminierendes und gewaltvolles Verhalten ist. Das Mensch Meier verfügt über ein ausgearbeitetes Awarenesskonzept und diesbezüglich geschultes Personal. Dabei lautet unsere grundsätzliche Philosophie: Es gibt keine dummen Fragen! Uns ist es wichtig, dass Du Unsicherheiten loswerden und sämtliche Fragen stellen kannst. Gemeinsam schaffen wir uns genau die Atmosphäre, die wir dafür brauchen.“

We are back with our second edition of Rave for Good in the great Meier! This time, we are honored to present you (once again!) with an amazing selected line up!

During the pandemic we successfully completed two projects in West Africa. In Burkina Faso we have dug a well for the village of Zigla Pakala, and in the capital of Ghana, we made healthcare workshops for women and kids. We cannot wait to celebrate this success and inaugurate the planning of the next steps we will do!

The early birds will discover a reduced entrance fee and a unique concert of the African “Wolara Band”, who will perform with west African traditional instruments such as Balafon, Djembe, akustik gitarre, and bass! With them we bring in some West African traditions, which are related to our project and our “Rave for Good” roots.

Additionally, we will also give a short presentation about our last and upcoming Rave for Good projects. So treat yourself, and come early, and enjoy a night of Good.
